Hasene partakes in RIS Fair in Canada

Hasene participates in RIS (Reviving the Islamic Spirit) Fair that took place in Toronto on the 26-28th of December. Visitors showed great interest in the event, which was first organized by university students thirteen years ago. Tens of thousands came and visited the fair event, during which Muslims from all over the world came together and several conferences were held, along with hundreds of stands.

Hasene Canada Representative Erkan Asik assessed the fair and the events: “The need for such occasions is definitely high here. This fair, as a framework of a joint event around holiday times, Muslims coming together, meeting and getting to know each other,  is crucial. At such fair event, as Hasene, we have had an opportunity to introduce and tell about ourselves. We have given information about Hasene, our campaigns and projects to the participants who visited our Hasene stand. Our stand was particular and drew attention with our institutional color and design: one could say that Hasene is almost identified with the color Turquoise. Turkish Consulate to Toronto has also been among those who have visited our  stand.”

With regard to the work and activities by Hasene in Canada, Asik  said: “Last year in Toronto, we distributed backpack aids to about 120 people who had nowhere but the streets t o live. These packages included: socks, gloves, paper tissues and dry food. We are also planning on distributing aid packages inclusive of food and hygiene products to Syrian refugees here.”
